CHURCH MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to transform people into fully functioning followers of Christ in the Palm Beach County inner cities and beyond.

Fully functioning followers have three characteristics (the 3Cs);

1.Conversion to Christ (they know Christ as Savior).

1.Commitment to Christ (they are committed to grow in Christ).

2.Contribution to Christ (they serve the body, share their finances, and seek the lost).

The strategic goals (to realize our mission):

1.To lead people to faith in Christ and active involvement in the church i.e. see people converted to Christ (to interest in becoming a disciple).Luke 15:1-10, 19:1-10;

Col. 4:2-6; 2 Tim. 4:4; 1 Cor. 14:22-25.

2.To bring people to a commitment to Christ (to become a committed disciple).Col.1:28; Eph. 4:12-13; Tim. 4:7-8; Heb. 6:1-3.

3.To equip people to make a contribution to Christ (to become a contributing disciple). I Cor. 12:1-26; I Cor. 16:1-2; Mat. 28:19.

CHURCH VISION STATEMENT

Our vision is to be a culturally relevant church with a Great Commission vision reaching out to the unchurched communities in the Palm Beaches. In order to accomplish this, OZPBC will be a transformation station where every Christian can be transformed into a fully functioning follower of Christ. This transformation will come through the SWORD.(Commitment to fulfill all five tasks that Christ ordained for his church to accomplish).Mat. 22:37-40, Mat. 28:19-20.

Service– Each member is to serve in the church. This is accomplished through the selection and faithful participation in one area of church ministry.(1 Corinthians 12:12-27).

Worship – In worship, our goal will be to get those who enter into our fellowship to make the exaltation of God in their lives and the submitting to His authority the supreme purpose of their lives. This is to be demonstrated by their faithful participation in the corporate Sunday gathering of the church and regular participation in communion (Acts 2:42).We love God by worshipping him. (Matthew 4:10).This is the first purpose of the church. We celebrate God’s presence through magnifying Him and exalting his name.(Psalm. 34:3).

Outreach – Every Christian has a responsibility to share the Good news everywhere we go.Jesus commissioned us to go and tell the world the message of salvation.(Acts 1:8, 2:42-47b).

Relationship – Christians are not just to believe, but to belong. This takes place through baptism.Baptism identifies us with the body of Christ.Baptism is a symbol of salvation and fellowship. In order to provide a system of accountability and intimate fellowship at our ever growing church, each member is assigned a leader. The leaders are expected to hold those under their care lovingly responsible for their Christian lifestyles as well as to provide a context for mutual support and encouragement (Acts 2:42-47).

Discipleship– Christians are to grow in biblical literacy and its application in their lives so that we become more like Jesus in our thoughts, feelings, and actions.Participation in the Wednesday night “Center for Christian Growth” (or an approved alternative) is expected of each member (Acts 2:42).

CORE VALUES STATEMENT

The following presents the core values of Orthodox Zion Primitive Baptist Church:

We desire that our values clarify and compel this ministry in the context of a compassionate and caring environment.

Christ Headship

We acknowledge Christ as the head of the church and submit ourselves, and all our undertakings to His will.(Ephesians 1:22-23).

Biblical Teaching & Preaching

We attempt earnestly to teach God’s word with integrity and authority so that unbelievers can find Christ and believers can mature in Him.(2 Timothy 3:16).

Authentic Worship

We acknowledge God’s supreme value and worth in our personal lives and in corporate worship of our church.(Romans 12:1-2).

Prayer

We depend on private and corporate prayer in carrying out all ministries and undertakings of this church.(Matthew 7:7-11; James 5:13-18).

Sense of Community

We ask all our people to commit to and fully participate in biblically based small groups where they may reach the lost, exercise their gifts, be shepherded, and thus grow in Christ’s likeness.(Acts 2:44-46).

Family

We support the spiritual nurturing of the family as one of God’s dynamic means to carry out the Christian faith.(2 Timothy 1:5).

Creativity and Innovation

We will continually evaluate and adjust our methods to remain culturally relevant and maximize ministry effectiveness for Christ.(1 Chronicles 12:32).

Lost People

We value lost people and will use biblical, culturally relevant Christ honoring means to pursue, win, and disciple them.We will do whatever it takes to reach people for Christ.(Luke 19:10).

Mobilized Congregation

We believe that every member is a minister; therefore, we seek to equip all of our divine, designed and gifted people to effectively accomplish the work of our ministry.(Ephesians 4:11-13).

Ministry Excellence

Since God gave his best (the Savior) we seek to honor Him by maintaining a high standard of excellence in our ministries and our activities.(Colossians 3:23-24).
