A Message from our Pastor


This has been the question that many, including myself, have been asking. The past two years have brought some radical changes in doing business for the Lord. It is no longer business as usual. Some of these changes have been long prayed for and I believe that the atmosphere is ripe and prepared for a powerful move of God. The congregation is now ready to move to the next level God has prepared and the community is ready for a church to break out of the limitations that has been in operation for many decades. OZPBC has been on the forefront of this community and is ready to follow God as He chooses to lead. Let me share with you what I feel God is saying about the next level for us.

A Time for Excellence: Although we strive to do everything with excellence, I feel God speaking that it is time to bring things to higher level. In every area of ministry, our search for excellence must begin with service to our brothers and sisters in the Lord. In corporate America, money and time is invested in “customer service.” Corporations realize that in order to keep the customer they have to gain new markets and that satisfying the customer is the most important item. I believe God is saying that it is time for to bring the same excellence to the church in every area. I am not referring to the type of excellence that is motivated by competitive dominance. Nor am I talking about an excellence that is motivated by an attempt to reach goals of achievement. This type of motivation, left unchecked by Godly ethics, will turn us into tyrants and dictators. I am talking about an excellence that seeks achievement for the purpose to glorify God. Guest services, every area of ministry, every staff member, and every volunteer must rise to a higher level of service and love so that every person who visits our church will not only have a great experience but also that God will be glorified through our interaction with them. Visitors must initially experience a sense of belonging and a sense of being needed. Therefore let us press ourselves to the limits so that we might achieve the maximum level of excellence in all that we do, while at the same time be on guard against pride. Let us therefore work hard to excel to God’s glory.

A Solidifying Of the Mission and Vision: In order to reach the next level we must pray, work, fast, and preach to reach the segment of our region that God has given us. Not every church is called to be a mega church, but every church ought to be healthy enough to grow to the size God chooses for it. The goal is not to have the largest church, but to have church health in order to influence our region for the glory of God. The Mission must be concise and the vision must be clear and understood by every person who is a part of this ministry. We need to understand where we are going so that we will know when we get there (mission). We need to know what it looks like so that we will recognize it when it comes to pass (vision). We cannot have church just for the sake of having church, but there must be a reason for everything we do. I will work diligently to cast the vision and make it plain so that every member of OZPBC can run with it.

Activation Of Ministry Gifts: Every man and woman who is saved has special gifts and callings given by God. These gifts are what will make us reach our goals given by God. We need every man and woman to identify the gifting of God in their life and then begin to activate that gift by involvement in Ministry. In order to accomplish this we are working on a general session to identify how all existing members are gifted by God. To reach the next level, it is going to take all of us working in harmony.

Reach New Heights In Our Personal Relationship With God: Through prayer, times of fasting, times of worship, times of discipleship and intimate time with God, we are going to reach new insights of what God has for each one of us.

We are looking forward to an even greater future than what the last five years has brought. We will soon have to embark on a building campaign. However, we are not worried about buildings or property, those things will take care of themselves, we are looking forward to God's blessing and health for His church. Together we can see the vision come to pass. Have a blessed day!
